Eastbound and Down
At 12:30am Saturday morning, Veronica and I set off on our yearly road trip to Beckley, WV. 10 1/2 hours later with a still half stoned cat, we checked into the hotel and then took off for the family reunion at Grandview. It was wonderful seeing everyone again and the food was fantastic as always. We then took off to the overlooks of New River Gorge. THE most beautiful views I’ve ever scene. If not for being completely worn out, we would have walked more of the trails, like we did last year (God knows I could use the exercise). If you have the opportunity to come visit, do so. You won’t be disappointed.
I’ve been awake since 6am this morning. Which may have something to do with passing out at at 10pm last night after being awake for about 26 hours. I think its time to wake Veronica and go find breakfast. Our near daily pilgrimage to Tudor’s Biscuit World while visiting Beckley, seems like a fantastic idea to me.
We’ll be here for a couple days, probably heading back to Chicago on Tuesday. Hopefully, we’ll enjoy some swimming and the hot tub. You think we can find waterwings for the Cat?
