Sammy Who?
This really doesn’t deserve much of a mention, but I’ll just point out the obvious: Sammy Sosa says he feels that the Chicago Cubs made him out to be a monster following his departure from the club 6 years ago and they don’t care about him. When in truth, Sosa made himself out to be the monster when he walked out on his teammates and just as important, the fans who idolized him for every steroid induced home run he blasted out of Wrigley Field. Nobody in this city cares about Sammy Sosa anymore because he stopped caring about us first.
As for his number not being retired … Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ryne Sandberg, Ron Santo, Fergie Jenkins and Gred Maddux did what they did, everyday, CLEAN and THAT is why their numbers fly from atop the foul poles at Wrigley Field. Tyler Colvin is more deserving of having that number retired, right now, than you ever will.

At Wits End with AT&T: U-Verse is the Devil!
It took about 9 days worth of garbage, but I finally lost my composure with the inept and redundant babble spewed by AT&T in my direction regarding fixing my In-Laws phone service. All the while, my Father-In-Law sits in a hospital bed after suffering a stroke 2+ weeks ago.
This entire mess started a few days before Dads stroke. An AT&T U-Verse salesman came to our door and managed to talk him into switching away from Comcast for our cable and internet as well as switching our phone from traditional landline service to voIP. Before going further, this is a rather large household that my in-laws have been so gracious as to provide a roof over the heads of not only my wife and I, but my two step-sons, an adopted son and my Mother-In-Laws brother. All added up that comes to 8 people. With each group of us living our own lives, so to speak, there are 6 TVs in this house.
King or Court Jester?

Say what you will about this rant being a Chicago fan venting that the big free agent didn’t choose the Windy City. But the spectacle LeBron James made of himself over the last week is really pretty sad. Not to mention for a man that bills himself as “King James” he sure acted more like a court jester, following the crowd to South Beach. Last I checked, Kings lead, they don’t follow.
On top of all that, this BIG announcement on ESPN was nothing more than a big joke and a way of sticking it to Cleveland. The worst kept secret in sports. You’d have thought all the reports over the last few days were a perfect way of throwing people and the media off for when he would announce some place other than Miami to play.
Now, LBJ becomes 2nd banana to Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh gets to tag along for the ride as long as his knees hold out. I’m betting in the long run these three musketeers end up more like the three stooges and I’ll be all the more happier if some other team takes home the championship next season.
For a man compared to Michael Jordan, he sure doesn’t act like it. MJ would have never gone out of his way like this to put himself above the game. Yeah he endorsed tons of products and yes he was larger than life. But he wouldn’t degrade his sport all in the effort to purposely plaster his face on primetime TV for an hour, just to take 2 seconds to announce the next stop on the celebrity express.
The Bulls are better off without LeBronMania. Some people may not see that now, but it’s true. We have a great young nucleus and money to spend to surround them with good talent.
James couldn’t hold MJs jock strap, let alone be any real threat to the legend that is Michael Jordan, here in Chicago, or anywhere else. And, the Bulls attempt at luring James to Chicago was perfect, attacking directly at his competitiveness. Looks like MJ beats him in that category too. If James competitive nature was half that of Jordan, he would have jumped at the chance to try and overtake MJs popularity and success in this city. As it is, he gets to put up with Pat Riley for the next 5 years.
