Lending a Helping Hand

To watch the news for the few days and see the devastation in Haiti, from the massive earthquake, the problems my family and I are experiencing right now seem so very small in comparison. My wife and I have done our small part, sending a few dollars towards the relief effort. It wasn’t much, and not nearly as much as we would have liked, but as they say, every little bit does help. As if you haven’t heard this enough from the news reports and commercials so far, please do what you can, even just $5 can go a long way towards helping Haiti.

Just make sure you give to legitimate causes. Natural disasters like this always bring out the con artists and scammers. Below, you’ll see a series of links to some reputable charities and organizations.

May God be with the people of Haiti, their families around the world and the wonderful men and women either on their way to Haiti or already there assisting in the relief efforts. And, Thank You, to everyone who has made even the smallest of contributions. It’s a small price to pay to do our part, monetarily, even if we can’t be there to do something physically.

This is not meant to be an all inclusive list, but merely a starting point, if you feel others need to be added, please send me a message using the contact form or the comments to this post and I will update the list.

Otherwise, you may also visit Charity Navigator for a list of charities working directly with the Haiti Relief Effort.
